ABOUT US
Zimbabwe Hemophilia Association (ZHA) is a registered organisation in Zimbabwe (PVO 17/88). We are dedicated to improving and sustaining  care for all hemophilia people in Zimbabwe. Our work also include awareness and training programs, diagnosis and treatment assistance through our partners,  advocacy and livelihoods enhancement.
WHAT IS HAEMOPHILIA
Haemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder characterized by low levels or a complete absence of specific proteins known as 'clotting factors,' leading to improper blood clotting. Consequently, individuals with haemophilia experience excessive bleeding. These bleeding disorders arise from defects in either the blood vessels, the coagulation mechanism, or the blood platelets. Affected individuals may experience spontaneous bleeding or prolonged bleeding following injury or surgical procedures.
